About the university
10,000 students, 1,000 employees, 100 degree programmes – Ostfalia is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony. At our four campuses in Salzgitter, Suderburg, Wolfsburg and Wolfenbüttel, we provide our students with a sound, practice-oriented and interdisciplinary education. We support them individually and personally throughout their studies.
Range of subjects
The range of subjects covered by the degree programmes at Ostfalia includes technology and computer science, transport, mobility and logistics, economics and law, media and design, as well as social work and healthcare. This enables students to develop solutions to the major technological, economic and social challenges of our time, such as digitalisation, climate protection and sustainability, and demographic change. Dual degree programmes and practice-oriented degree programmes round off the range of bachelor's and master's degree programmes on offer. Over 100 international university partnerships on all continents not only enable the exchange of lecturers, but also offer students in particular the opportunity to gain international experience.
Practical and interdisciplinary
Small learning groups and application-oriented teaching with concrete interdisciplinary projects are at the heart of university education. The university's diverse network with close contacts to companies and external institutions ensures that the course content is optimally aligned with the requirements of the labour market. All four university locations have a large number of modern laboratories. At the same time, students have the opportunity to apply and deepen their knowledge in a profitable way – for example, during the practical phase of their studies and in the course of their bachelor's or master's thesis in cooperation with a company.
Contact for employers
The cooperation between Stellenticket and Ostfalia is coordinated by the university's Career Service. As the university's central, cross-faculty service centre, it promotes the employability of students and exchanges with professional practice. Further contact persons for companies can be found in the Marketing and Communications department, where corporate and professional partnerships are centrally coordinated and expanded. Ostfalia already maintains a mid-three-digit number of corporate partnerships, ranging from global corporations to small businesses. The university's close cooperation with Lower Saxony's business community and institutions in the social and health sectors is a unique selling point
