With 11,000 students, Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) is one of the major state universities for applied sciences – with practical-oriented teaching, intensive and diverse research, high quality standards and a strong international orientation.
The HWR offers 60 Bachelor-, Master- or MBA-study courses and programmes for advanced training in economics, administration, legal and security management as well as engineering. As the largest provider of cooperative degree programmes in Berlin the HWR cooperates with over 700 companies. The HWR promotes knowledge and technology transfer and supports business ideas and concepts via the Startup Incubator Berlin.
The university maintains 170 partnerships with universities all over the world and is a member of the university association „UAS7 – Alliance for Excellence“. In the national ranking of the CHE Centre for Higher Education the HWR takes a top position while it is leading in the field of the internationalization of business administration programmes. According to a nationwide survey initiated by DEUTSCHLAND TEST the university was named „TOP Business School“ repeatedly.
The HWR Berlin supports the initiative of the German Rectors’ Conference called „German Universities Open to the World – Against Racism and Chauvinism“.
