Founded in 1831 as Higher Trade School, carries the former University of Hanover since 2006 the name Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover and is today with approximately 27,000 students the second largest university in Lower Saxony.
With 87 subjects and more than 180 study courses offers Leibniz Universität Hannover a wide range of study options. Whether classic or innovative, humanities or technical: The spectrum ranges from natural and engineering sciences to humanities and social sciences to the business and law. Hardly any other university in Germany offers such a wide variety of subjects. In the research interdisciplinary and international focus in engineering, quantum optics and gravitation physics and biomedicine are continuously expanded. New buildings support the infrastructure of excellent research and education.
Also the development of new priorities to strengthen the teaching profile, such as in teacher training, is in the focus of Leibniz Universität Hannover. Additionally offers the university in the field of further education numerous postgraduate and supplementary courses as well as advanced vocational training courses.
With the internationalization of Lower Saxony universities Leibniz Universität is far ahead: In addition to many international collaborations, exchange programs for students, scientists, joint research projects or summer schools also provides the Hanover region with global companies starting points for research and business relations worldwide.
The cooperation for Stellenticket Leibniz Universität Hannover is coordinated by the Career Service of the Central Institute for Quality Development in Learning and Teaching (ZQS). The Career Service promotes the employability of students and the exchange of professional practice within the study. Students are supported from the beginning of their studies until the transition to the job in planning their career development.
